Today was just all things aussie... Queen's Birthday public holiday, a balmy 18 degree fine sunny with no cloud WINTER day - take THAT you northern hemisphere freezing countries, and a room full of old folk who appreciate FINE music. And by that, I mean me (haha).
I basically played a whole bunch of 1930's hits which got a lot of the oldies singing and clapping, some actually got up and danced. There was this lovely just LOVELY little old lady named Barbara who sang beautifully - she sounded like a cabaret singer, seriously! She sat in the chair right next to me and sang/hummed along. They made me play God Save the Queen twice, as it was appropriate for the occasion. I made Barbara cry when I played Dannyboy and she sang along to it, and an old man told me I was a beautiful young lady. Then they all cheered and I even heard a "Hooray" after I played Offenbach's Can-Can (which they clapped along to also). Don't you just love old people. They were pleasant though - I suppose if I had come post-afternoon there would have been screaming hysterical dementia sufferers, but no they were really nice to me. To finish things up I then did an encore performance of Waltzing Matilda which got everybody singing and clapping; I even put it a key change for the last chorus (yes I know, I'm impressive).
Then I got home, did some laundry whilst making a nice country-bumpkin chicken and vegetable soup. I didn't have any cream though so I used milk. Yummy. I just finished one dreadful anatomy assignment and about to start the next one. Not looking forward to dissection tomorrow as usual... Our cadaver's smelling worse and worse each week.

Back In Business
OK so I haven't blogged for over 6 months, let's hope I remember how! I've started to forget all that html mumbo-jumbo. Don't worry though, this blog will improve (hopefully).
So this morning my brother finally left for his 6-week Euro holiday (which also includes Johannesburg, Hong Kong and Japan). Naturally I'm glad cause it'll be more quiet, I get more computer time and I won't have to fight over food. He took his backpack back from me though so I dunno what I'm gonna do to carry all my equipment and stuff when I have Anatomy Dissection or Tooth Conservation. I wanna buy a new one actually, one that I can call my own. Those black Kathmandu ones look good. Oh, and by the way I don't have my camera for 6 weeks cause Ryan's taken it, so this blog will be pretty blank and picture free until I get it back. Sorry guys, I know how much you were all dying to see my gorgeous self.
I graduate on the 16th isn't that spiffy? It'll be the first time I ever achieved something big in my life. Which isn't that big anyways cause had I not gotten into dentistry I'd be in a boring lab job looking at stool and urine samples all day, growing bacteria and coming home after every 40 hour week with $34,000 a year. I've chosen my outfit; that black Ojay dress I got for a really good price, these nice Voodoo pantyhose with these cross-patterns on it and I guess a coat overtop when I'm not wearing the gown and trencher hat, but I haven't gotten new shoes yet :( I plan to go look today at this Italian shoe store. I'm after something black but simultaneously pretty, European size is 37. I love shoes.
